Notey
A playful intervention for a collaborative musical experience.
2018
Notey is a series of touch sensitive keyboards designed to be installed in public spaces. We were inspired by the behavioural psychology behind public pianos, which can be intimidating to those who do not know how to play and can only be used by one person at a time. Though the use of textiles and a minimalist form, Notey employs a much more inviting appearance. All four boards would be spaced out within an installation but share the same audio output, allowing participants to collaborate with strangers they would likely never interact with otherwise.
Notey was scheduled to be exhibited in Milan Design Week 2020.
